Grapefruit weight loss diet plan - how to lose weight?

Grapefruit weight loss diet

Grapefruit diet was created by doctors and nutritionists from the Rikshospitalet clinic in Oslo. The main component of the diet, as the name suggests, is grapefruit, which is an excellent source of vitamin C (only half of the grapefruit provides more than half the recommended daily dose of vitamin C).

The fruit contains pectin, which helps to lower the cholesterol level in the blood. Grapefruit are low calorie and low-fat, so they should be used as a part of two meals during the day. According to many experts, this fruit can protect us from cancer because there are compounds (bioflavonoids) in the flesh and albedo, which neutralise the substances that cause this disease.

The fruit is rich in water and vegetable fibres that fill the stomach and we feel saturated. Grapefruit diet can last up to 14 days and can reduce the body weight by 4 kg.

An important note is that a diet prohibits the use of salt. Do not fry food on fat, preferably steam, grill or bake. Drink about 2 litres of mineral water every day and drink herbal tea between meals.

Grapefruit for weight loss - nutritional properties

Grapefruit efficiently breaks down fats in our body and causes a feeling of satiety. It also has a lot of fibre in its composition, which accelerates rapid weight loss. In the 1930s, the grapefruit diet became fashionable in Hollywood. Many stars lost weight in a short period of time. Unfortunately, the low-calorie diet often made the body weak.

Other valuable mineral nutrients can also be found in grapefruit, such as:

calcium,
potassium,
magnesium,
B vitamins,
vitamin E.

Grapefruit drink
